United Kingdom: consultation on agent-assisted work

Generated May 18, 2026 from the role-transition ledger. Every number below is read from the same records the rest of the product runs on, so this document cannot drift away from the estate it describes.

The pack

Issued by Yolanda Reeves to Employee Consultation Forum. Six clauses, in the order a representative body reads them.

Issued
1

Scope and basis

United Kingdom roles across the fourteen functions. There is no standing works-council duty here. The pack is issued because the redundancy consultation duty bites where twenty or more roles at one establishment are at risk, and because the forum was promised the same disclosure the German and French bodies receive.

Affected roles

Every sub-function in United Kingdom whose work changes, grouped by function. The role after is the job as it will be written in the job architecture, not a description of the same job with fewer people in it.

436.4 full-time equivalents come off the old work in this jurisdiction. 305.0 have a named destination, 32.8 are expected to leave through natural attrition, and 98.6 have no destination written. Every sub-function has a transition record started.

3

Changed decision rights

This is the clause a works council actually argues about: not how many people, but who decides. Each row states the decision, who held it before, who holds it now, and what a human keeps regardless.

Reconciliation sign-off
Preparer prepared, reviewer reviewed, both named.Agent prepares and evidences; the reviewer still signs.

The signature, and with it the accountability. Nothing here removes a named reviewer from a reconciliation.

4

Monitoring commitments

What the company will and will not measure about a person once agents are doing part of their work. Each commitment carries the limit that makes it enforceable rather than a statement of intent.

The forum receives the role transition ledger in full, including the unplaced count.

Bounded by: Quarterly, and on demand when a transition changes status.

No individual-level productivity comparison is produced or retained.

Bounded by: Same aggregation floor as the German commitment: the sub-function.

5

Appeal route

Any employee whose work is routed, scored or escalated by an agent may ask for the decision to be re-made by a named human within five working days. The request goes to the sub-function owner listed on the role transition record; if the employee is not satisfied, it escalates to the function leader and then to the HR business partner named on the same record. The agent decision is suspended while the review is open. Every review is logged against the originating unit reference and is disclosable to the representative body on request.

6

Open questions and outcome

What counts as one establishment for the purpose of the twenty-role threshold when the affected population is distributed across three sites and a remote cohort?

Raised by Employee Consultation Forum

If the unplaced count in a sub-function rises after this pack is issued, is the pack reissued or amended?

Raised by Employee Consultation Forum

Where this pack falls short

The establishment question is unanswered and it is not a technicality: the redundancy threshold and therefore the length of the consultation period both depend on the answer. Employment counsel has the question and has not returned a view.

Other jurisdictions

The same generator, run against the same ledger, filtered to a different jurisdiction.

What this record is, and what it is not

These packs are assembled from the live ledger rather than typed by hand, which is the point. What they are not is legal advice: the duty analysis in each pack was written by the team building the platform, not by counsel in the jurisdiction it describes.

This pack covers 20 roles and 436.4 full-time equivalents in United Kingdom. It was generated, not written: change a transition record on the role transitions page and this document changes with it. It reached Fiona Gallagher on May 26, 2026.

Consultation is not legally required in United Kingdom. This pack exists because the estate is the same everywhere and issuing a document only where the law forces you to is how a company loses the argument in the jurisdictions where it does.
