The staging boundary
Nothing arrives directly in the spine. A batch lands in staging, is tested field by field against the contract it was declared under, and leaves in one of three directions: admitted, quarantined for a person to look at, or rejected outright with the reason written down. A record that fails is never quietly coerced into shape.
Health
What arrived and what got through
Every record that reached the boundary in the recorded window, and where it ended up.
Every batch presented in the recorded window lost at least one record to quarantine, rejection or a hold on the whole batch. That is a statement about the contracts and the sources, not about the gate: a boundary that admits everything is not a boundary, and a boundary that never admits a clean batch means the declared shape and the delivered shape have not converged anywhere on this estate.
Every batch at the boundary
Newest first. The gate result is the sentence the boundary wrote when it made the decision, not a status code interpreted afterwards.

Actions
What is waiting on a person
Nothing crosses the staging boundary until it has been checked against the contract. A held record is the boundary working; a held record with no owner is the boundary filling up.
Put an owner on a quarantine reason
Open with nobody named. 21,241 records are behind these rows.
Chase a fix in the source system
Nothing this platform does will clear these. They have to be corrected where they are created.
Work a reason that has been sitting half a day
Twelve hours or older and not cleared. Quarantine is a queue, not a destination.
Decide a proposed contract change
The source changed shape and the fix is a new contract version, not a data correction.
Operations
What this desk is allowed to start
A surface that only reports is not operable. This is the work this page can set in motion, and the bound it runs into.
Trigger and bound
This desk can admit a batch, hold a record in quarantine against a named reason code, reject a record outright, and re-admit one once the reason clears. It cannot correct the record, waive a validation rule, or admit anything the contract does not describe — a record that does not match the contract is either fixed at the source or the contract changes.
Live observability
What the record shows right now
Disposition of all 206,906 records that arrived in this window. Every arriving record lands in exactly one of these three states and they sum to the total: admitted to the spine, held pending a person's decision, or refused outright. The 2 batches held whole are inside the quarantined figure, because holding a batch holds every record in it.
Current distribution
206,906 records
Is policy and strategy coming to fruition
Whether the written intent is holding here
No batch in this window cleared the gate untouched: all 32 held something.
Not holding on the record
The written intent is a staging boundary: nothing reaches the spine until it has been validated against the contract, and what fails is held with a reason a person can act on rather than dropped silently. The boundary is holding — 85.1% of arriving records were admitted and the remaining 30,774 were each held against a named reason code. What is not holding is the disposal of those reasons. 10 of the 41 reason rows have no owner, 7 have been open twelve hours or more, and 6 are waiting on a contract decision nobody has taken. A boundary that catches everything and clears nothing becomes a second backlog.
A contract, a validation rule, a freshness commitment and a replay path are real mechanisms and they are what this wave builds. What they are not is a connection. No connector on this estate is attached to a customer instance, so every batch, every replay and every write-back attempt recorded here ran against a modeled extract or a sandbox, and the registry keeps saying modeled.
Every record that arrived has exactly one outcome: 176,132 admitted, 29,187 quarantined and 1,587 rejected. Those three sum to the 206,906 presented, so nothing is counted twice and nothing is left out.
25 partly admitted · 4 nothing admitted · 1 rejected outright · 2 held whole. A batch held whole is a batch the boundary refused before testing individual records, usually because a structural check failed. On those 2 rows the entire arrival sits in the quarantined column — 3,130 records — which means those records are held, not judged. Nothing on them has been found wrong; nothing on them has been found right either.
